Charmaine Swan
Hi. I'm Charmaine. I began studying yoga in 2000 at Mound Street Yoga with Roger Eischens. Initially, I was attracted to the practice of yoga as a way to rehabilitate from a knee injury I got while rowing crew at the UW. My yoga mat quickly turned into one of the first things I would pack with me for any trip.
I started teaching yoga in 2007 in Ashland, Wisconsin and in December of 2008 completed a 200-hour Alignment Yoga Teacher Training program with Scott Anderson.
My teaching goal is to create a safe space for the beginner to the advanced student to explore yoga, build a community, and break common yoga myths.
With the birth of my son, Axel, in June of 2009 my interests have shifted to pre-pregnancy and post-partum yoga. I am curious about discovering new ways to incorporate the practice of yoga into my daily life with a small child! I teach a limited number of group classes, but am also available for private and small group sessions. Please email me at charmaineswan at gmail dot com if you are interested in arranging a private session.
